Dhaka: Eleven representatives from various political parties met with Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus on Sunday evening to discuss the country’s current political landscape.
The meeting began after 6pm, as confirmed by the Chief Adviser's Deputy Press Secretary Azad Majumder.
In the first phase of the meeting, the participants were Colonel (Retd) Oli Ahmad, president of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP); Mahmudur Rahman Manna, president of Nagorik Oikko; Saiful Haque, general secretary of the Revolutionary Workers Party; Zonayed Saki, chief coordinator of the Ganosamhati Andolon; Hasnat Kaiyum, coordinator of the Rastro Songskar Andolon; Mojibur Rahman Monju, chairman of the Amar Bangladesh (AB) Party; Mujahidul Islam Selim, former president of the Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB); Khalekuzzaman Bhuiyan, chief adviser of the Bangladesh Socialist Party (BaSaD); Tipu Biswas, coordinator of the Jatiya Gano Front; Sheikh Rafiqul Islam Bablu, convener of the Bhashani Followers Council; and Shahid Uddin Mahmud Swapan, general secretary of the Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JaSaD).
Later, at 6:45pm, another meeting was scheduled between the chief adviser and nine representatives from several other political parties.
Notably, on Saturday, the chief adviser held separate meetings with leaders of the BNP, Jamaat-e-Islami, and the National Citizen Party (NCP).
